Product Safety Advisory 2/24/26 Petzl Official Nomic Recall Notice on these specific batches of the following ice axes: • NOMIC – U021AA00 • ERGONOMIC – U022AA00 This recall is due to a risk of handle failure, which could cause a climber to fall and result in serious injury. Who is affected? Only the following models are included: NOMIC U021AA00 manufactured between December 2017 – June 2020 ERGONOMIC U022AA00 manufactured between June 2018 – December 2021  Previous generations (NOMIC U21 / U21 X and ERGO U22 / U22 X) are NOT affected. The durability of these batches does not meet Petzl’s quality standards for intensive ice climbing and dry tooling. IMPORTANTLY, the failure occurs with no warning signs or possibility of prior detection. For these reasons, Petzl has asked that you immediately stop using the ice axes affected by this recall. What you should do: * Immediately stop using the affected ice axe. * Check your model and serial number (located at the top of the shaft, below the T rating and CE mark). If you are affected by this recall. Contact Petzl’s After-Sales Service to arrange a free replacement shaft, via the Petzl website. You can find the link to the Petzl website below. In order to receive your replacement shaft, you will need to return the shaft of your affected axe to Petzl.
